This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  • Position: full sun
  • Soil: moist, well-drained soil
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: June to September
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

The upright stems of this decorative yarrow are clothed with finely cut foliage, and in summer they are topped with flattened clusters of small flower-heads, which fade from yellow to cream as they age. Wonderful in full sun, 'Credo' looks right at home in a sunny spot with moist but well-drained soil.

  • Garden care: Achilleas do not like wet soil. Stake using bamboo canes or brushwood before the flowers appear. Cut down to the ground in late winter. Lift and divide large clumps in late autumn or early spring.
