A great plant for late summer and autumn colour. The slender, grass-like leaves form upright clumps from which spikes of open cup-shaped blooms appear in late summer. These large white flowers have a soft pink blush to the petals and seem to hover above the foliage, usually until the first frosts. This elegant perennial will thrive in a sunny spot with reliably moist but well-drained soil and is a long-lasting cut flower. - Garden care: Apply lots of well-rotted garden compost or manure when planting. Water during dry spells and deadhead regularly. After flowering remove the faded flowerspikes and protect the crown of the plant with a deep, dry winter mulch. Lift and divide congested plants every two or three years in spring.
