- Soil: fertile, well drained, moisture-retentive and firm
Useful for both spring and summer production. Dark green upright leaves cover tight pointed hearts. - Growing Instructions:Can be sown successionally, starting with an early sowing in February in pots or seed trays under cover. Later sowings can be made into well-prepared seed beds in shallow drills 1.5cm deep. Plant out into growing sites when plants are 15cm tall, spacing about 10cm apart. Protect from slugs and net against pigeons. Never plant cabbages into ground containing fresh manure as this encourages a mass of leaf growth with no heart.
