This shrub is semi-evergreen, so it can lose some of its leaves in winter. In colder regions or more exposed gardens, it may lose them all, but then fresh new foliage appears again in spring.

  • Position: full sun
  • Soil: fertile, well-drained soil
  • Rate of growth: fast-growing
  • Flowering period: June to July
  • Hardiness: frost hardy (needs winter protection)

Masses of tubular pink flowers appear on the arching branches of this handsome shrub in early summer - shown off beautifully against the backdrop of rich green foliage. A relatively fast-growing sun-loving plant, it is (mainly) evergreen, so provides screening and form throughout the year, and it is happiest when grown against a warm, sunny wall.

  • Garden care: After flowering lightly trim back the flowered shoots to retain a neat and tidy shape. Remove any dead or damaged wood in April.
