This plant is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.

  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: prefers moist, well-drained, acidic soil or ericaceous compost in a pot.
  • Rate of growth: fast-growing
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

This strong-growing older variety is not only valuable for its generous clusters of large sweet blueberries, but also for its ornamental value. Its pink flowers, which appear in late spring, turn white as they age and these are followed by delectable fruit that usually ripens in early August. Then, the foliage takes on good autumnal tones before being shed - so all in all it offers a long season of interest in both borders and larger pots.

  • Garden care: Prepare the ground well before planting. Blueberries can also be grown in large pots and containers if ericaceous compost is used. Prune in winter, cutting out dead or damaged branches. In spring, feed with sulphate of ammonia, sulphate of potash and bonemeal and top-dress with ericaceous compost.
