    • A glorious blue, white and yellow collection of delicate blooms to celebrate the middle of spring on a colourful note. These scilla, species tulip, and muscari bulbs are perfect for patio pots or for underplanting in a woodland margin to provide a bright and cheery combination.

In each collection you will receive the following:

      • 10 × Tulipa 'Turkestanica': A beautiful species tulip that can be left in the ground for several years, where it will gradually form a naturalised swathe of early spring colour in borders or meadows. The flowers themselves are mainly white, but usually with a subtle pink or greenish yellow flush - and they tend to be longer-lasting than many of the tulips commonly used as seasonal bedding. As they open, they resemble yellow-eyed stars that seem to hover amongst the grey-green leaves. A stunner! Grows to 30cm tall.

      • 25 × Muscari latifolium: This is such a great little plant that in summer 2005 it was voted as the International Flower Bulb Centre's official bulb of the year. The bottom two thirds of the flowers are coloured a very dark blue and appear near black in certain lights. Each spike is topped by a tuft of striking bright blue flowers giving it a two-tone effect. Its leaves are broader and flatter than most other grape hyacinths and they tend to wrap themselves around the stem of each flower rather than just jut up. It is a small plant that packs a big punch when planted in big, naturalistic drifts. Mix it with other spring flowers in an orchard or meadow - try planting it with the hoop petticoat daffodil for a great colour contrast. Alternatively cram loads into a pot and place it on a sunny patio. Grows to 15cm tall.

      • 20 × Scilla mischtschenkoana: In late winter or early spring, star-shaped, pale blue flowers, which have a darker stripe along the length of their petals, appear with the narrow basal foliage. Grows to 15cm tall.

    • Garden care: In September to December plant bulbs 15-20cm deep and 10-15cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, allow 7-9 bulbs per 30cm sq. After flowering deadhead and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each week for the first month. Once the foliage has died down naturally lift the bulbs and store in a cool greenhouse.
    • Harmful if eaten/may cause skin allergy
