Chillies add zing to a wide range of meals and are relatively easy to grow. This starter kit makes it even easier as it contains everything you will need to grow three popular varieties, which vary in heat and intensity. The pack includes easy to follow growing instructions, three ceramic pots, sufficient compost to fill the pots and three packets of seeds. These seeds include...

    Jalepeno chillies (medium heat)
Who hasn't heard of this famous Mexican pepper? It is a mid- to early season variety with hot, mid-sized fruits. It forms a bushy plant and is ideal for growing in containers. A great addition to your Chilli con Carne and any other hot, spicy dishes!

    Cayenne chillies (fiery heat)
A very hot variety of chilli which can bite back! The long red fruits are produced mid-season and can be dried after harvesting, or ground to make cayenne pepper. It forms a bushy plant with lots of branches and small leaves.

    Scotch Bonnet chillies (extreme heat)
Not for the faint-hearted, this is a blisteringly hot chilli. Most commonly used to flavour Caribbean dishes, a milder flavour can be achieved by removing the seeds before cooking.

  • Growing Instructions:
Fill up to 80% of each pot with compost and moisten. Space 7 - 8 seeds in each pot (saving the remainder for later), cover with a very thin layer of compost and moisten again. Place them on a warm, well-lit windowsill inside the house, keeping the compost moist but not waterlogged. Repot the strongest seedlings into larger pots and either continue to grow them indoors, or on a patio after all risk of frost has passed.
  • Humans/Pets: Irritant if eaten; skin/eye irritant
