3 litre pot £24.99

This shrub is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.

  • Position: full sun
  • Soil: fertile, well-drained soil
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: February to April, and intermittently throughout the summer
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

Bright green, pinnate foliage with small leaflets, the scorpion senna has fragrant, pale yellow flowers that first appear in late winter or early spring and continue to bloom intermittently throughout the summer. A compact, medium-sized elegant deciduous shrub that would be perfect against a warm, sunny, south-facing wall.

  • Garden care Plant scorpion senna incorporating some well-rotted compost or manure in the planting hole. After flowering remove misplaced, diseased or crossing stems and apply a generous mulch of conditioned organic matter around the base of the plant.
