  • A clump forming evergreen succulent forming spirals of button-like stacks of square or triangular leaves. Crassula perforata is an attractive plant for sheltered, sunny locations but also makes an excellent container, alpine trough, or indoor pot but should be protected from frost. The grey-green leaves can take on a pink hue when exposed to high sun levels. Flowers are small, pale yellow, and appear in spring.

  • Garden care: Grow in a freely draining compost, preferably a soil or loam based specialist cacti compost. During the growing season, water thoroughly making sure the excess water drains away freely but ensure the water is done at the base of the plant, keeping water from the leaves where possible. Then, when the compost has dried out, repeat the process. Water very sparingly in winter, and keep away from cold draughts or chilly window sills while maintaining a sunny situation.
