What better way to show that spring has arrived than creating a carpet of colourful flowers, which will put on a spectacular display. The bulbs in this collection are all easy to grow and are very reliable, coming back year after year. They will start to flower in March and can last until May if planted in lightly dappled shade - or April in a sunnier spot. They should flower in succession, starting with the Anemone blanda Mixed, then the Muscari armeniacum and finally the Chionodoxa luciliae.

In each collection you will receive the following:

50 × Anemone blanda Mixed (wood anemone)
A delightful flowering bulb, which has daisy-like flowers from March to April above delicate fern-like foliage. A mixed selection of pink, blue and white, these wood anemones are perfect for naturalising in a mixed border around the base of deciduous shrubs and trees. For maximum impact, plant them in bold drifts in well-drained, humus-rich soil. Grows to 3 inches high.

50 × Muscari armeniacum (grape hyacinth)
This is the classic grape hyacinth. It produces short spikes of electric blue bell-shaped flowers from March to April. The flowers are followed by green seed pods which add further interest . It will grow well in most conditions from full shade to full sun. A worthy winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Grows to 3 inches high.

50 × Scilla luciliae (glory of the snow)
Sprays of tiny, star-shaped gentian-blue flowers appear in March to April - or April/May in shadier borders - along with slender, strap-shaped leaves. Versatile, beautiful and easy-to-grow, these bulbs are ideal for a sunny border, or for naturalising under deciduous shrubs and trees. Grows to 3 inches high.

Garden care: They can be mass planted together in September and October at about 3 inches deep and 150 bulbs per metre squared to give a mass impact for spring.
