  A popular variety of this delightful and exotic-looking Mediterranean shrub, 'Dente di Caval' has glossy green leaves and discrete, orange-red funnel-shaped flowers in June to August followed by edible scarlet-red fruits. • Garden care: This variety can be grown into a small tree or pruned as a smaller wall shrub. Choose a sunny, sheltered site with free draining soil. Fertilise with a balanced organic fertiliser in November and March. Prune outdoor plants in spring, and indoor plants in early winter. Remove dead, broken or crossing branches as well as any suckers that have appeared at the base of the plants.
