  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: any well-drained, moderately fertile soil (for container-grown bulbs use two parts John Innes No2 compost to one part sharp grit)
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: April and May
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

This outstanding new hyacinth can produce up to six flower spikes from a single bulb, and although each spike tends to have slightly fewer flowers than many of the other hyacinths (which usually only produce one flower stem from each bulb), the overall effect is particularly showy. Also, the flowers have a strong perfume, and are excellent for cutting, so if you plant a few more than you need, you will have some extras for the vase.

  • Garden care: Pot up and bring indoors if you want them to flower in January, otherwise plant 15cm deep and 10cm apart in a bright spot. For safety reasons always use gloves when handling these bulbs.
  • Harmful if eaten/skin irritant
