Colourful cottage garden perennials, the lupins in the Gallery Series are compact and free-flowering, so suitable for both borders or pots. They produce their tightly-packed flower spikes in early summer, and if deadheaded promptly or cut for the vase, they may produce a second flush. Their distinctive foliage is attractively divided into leaflets that radiate out from a central point and each slender leaflet is covered with fine, silky hairs that will hold beads of water after heavy showers. The species originate from a wide range of sites where they thrive in dry, stony and infertile soils. In the garden they are quite undemanding, but prefer a spot in full sun with well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soil that has reliable moisture during the growing season.

In each collection you will receive 1 of each of the following. They are supplied as plug plants :

  • Lupinus 'Gallery Blue' (Gallery Series)
Purple-blue, pea-like flowers, each with paler pinkish or creamy standard, open from the base of the flower spike over several weeks creating an elegant effect. Grows to 50cm.

  • Lupinus 'Gallery Red' (Gallery Series)
Bright carmine-red flowers appear on upright stems above the clumps of handsomely divided foliage. Perfect for hot themed borders with rich oranges and yellows. Grows to 50cm.

  • Lupinus 'Gallery Yellow' (Gallery Series)
This is ideal for creating a strong vertical presence towards the front of the herbaceous border when the yellow flower spikes create an upright column of colour in early summer. Grows to 50cm.

  • Lupinus 'Gallery White' (Gallery Series)
The fresh green foliage provides an excellent contrast to the creamy white flowers, and it maintains a good shape throughout the summer. Grows to 50cm.

  • Lupinus 'Pink' (Gallery Series)
Pink flower spikes, make this lupin very easy to mix with most shades including purples, blues and softer pinks. Grows to 50cm.

  • Garden care: Stake with bamboo canes in spring before the flowers appear and deadhead the faded blooms to encourage a second flush of flowers.

  • Harmful if eaten
