Miscanthus sinensis 'Strictus'
Chinese silver grass
Silky, maroon or purplish brown-tinted, pale-grey flower-heads in autumn above clumps of narrow, blue-green arching leaves. This imposing ornamental grass makes an ideal specimen plant for a sunny, moist but well-drained border. A great companion for tall perennials such as veronicastrum, the plume-like flower-heads look fabulous frosted in the winter garden.
