A truly exotic and sumptuous collection of curated dahlias. Dahlia 'Feline Yvonne' boasts super-bright and vibrant blooms that appear in profusion over several months, adorning tall dark stems rising above fresh green foliage, creating an incredibly eye-catching display. 'Orange Girl' enchants with dusky orange flowerheads, threaded with a hint of pink, which age to a soft apricot, offering a stunning contrast to deep purples and plums, and perfect for sunny borders and cut flower arrangements. And lastly, 'Gipsy Night' captures hearts with plush, velvety claret ball-shaped heads that generously adorn the border, instantly becoming a favourite among our trials. Don't miss the chance to add these captivating dahlias to your garden for a show-stopping floral spectacle!

In each collection you will receive one tuber of each of the following cultivars:

  • Dahlia 'Feline Yvonne': Super-bright and vibrant, these dahlias appear in profusion over several months, topping tall dark stems that rise above upright mounds of fresh green foliage. Each flowerhead can grow to around 10-12cm in diameter, so the overall effect is incredibly eye-catching. Grows to 1m.

  • Dahlia 'Orange Girl': Tall, darkly stained stems carry 7-10cm wide flowers, which offer a great contrast to deep purples and plums. The flowerheads themselves have a dusky orange colouring (threaded with just a hint of pink), and they age to a soft apricot. Appearing in profusion over several months from midsummer, they look stunning when woven through a sunny border - and are excellent for cutting. Grows to 80cm.

  • Dahlia 'Gipsy Night': As soon as we saw this sumptuous dahlia in the trial beds, it jumped straight to the top of our favourites list! It is very generous with its smallish (up to 7cm wide), ball-shaped heads, which are a plush, velvety shade of claret. It looked stunning with just about everything we paired it with, and it will add real oomph when woven through the border. Grows to 1m.

  • Garden care:
Dahlia tubers can be planted outside after frost, or started off in pots under glass in late winter to early spring. Plant them horizontally approximately 12cm deep, making sure the ‘eyes’ are uppermost. Allow enough room between each tuber so the plants can grow and spread to their full size without being overcrowded. While in growth, provide a high-nitrogen liquid feed each week in June, then a high-potash fertiliser each week from July to September. Stake with canes or brushwood if it becomes necessary. In mild areas, leave them in situ over winter, but protect the crown with a generous layer of dry mulch. In colder areas, carefully lift and clean the tubers once the first frosts have blackened the foliage and allow them to dry naturally indoors. Then place the dry tubers in a shallow tray, just covered with slightly moist potting compost, sand or vermiculite and store in a frost-free place until planting out again.
