Hardiness: frost hardy (may need winter protection)
A mischievously variegated hebe with yellow tinged new leaves maturing to green over the summer. A compact, bushy evergreen shrub, ‘Golden Pixie’ is peppered with dense, spike-like racemes of purple flowers from late spring into autumn. Why not mix with other low maintenance, insect loving hebes in the range for a ‘sprite-ly’ potted patio such as ‘Purple Pixie’ and ‘Pink Pixie’?
Garden care: Hebes need free-draining soil, so before planting, dig in lots of organic matter to improve the soil condition and drainage. Water newly planted hebes regularly for the first season, especially in warm, dry weather. Once planted, this hebe requires minimal pruning, but remove misplaced or frost-damaged branches in late spring. Protect from severe winter cold and frost with a double layer of horticultural fleece.
