This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

A mounding, arching verbena (up to 50cm or 19" long) with clusters of rich violet-purple flowers all summer long. 'Showboat Dark Violet' from the ‘Showboat’ series is a new broad leaf type of trailing verbena, supplied as jumbo seedlings, they’re perfect for pots, containers and hanging baskets.

Grown individually in cell trays, each plant measures about 7 - 10cm tall (from the base of the root to the top of the plant). They are ideal for keen gardeners who have a greenhouse where the plants can be grown on until they are ready for planting out in the garden once all chance of frost has passed.

• Garden care: Protect from hard frosts, and dead-head regularly throughout the growing season. Keep well watered apply a liquid feed every fortnight with a high-potash fertiliser to promote healthy growth.
