Masses of small, erect, deep blue flowerspikes appear from April to June above a carpet of glossy, bronze-purple foliage. This vigorous and free flowering speedwell is perfect for clothing the front of a sunny, well-drained border. As well being good groundcover it's an excellent plant for attracting beneficial insects into the garden.

Garden care: Remove faded flower-stems in autumn. Apply a generous 5-7cm mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant in spring.
