Easily spot check the condition of pond or aquarium water with this 3-in-1 water testing kit. Ideal for keeping fish and other water-borne wildlife healthy and discouraging algae.
With three separate drip tests, the kit lets you measure the pH, GH (water hardness) and KH (carbonate hardness) values of water.
Water samples are collected in the test beaker provided, so you won’t need any additional equipment. Results will tell you what, if anything, needs correcting to restore water to optimal health.
Using the pH test:
1. Rinse out the test beaker with the water sample, then add 5ml of pond water to the beaker.
2. Add 5 drops of the pH test liquid and shake gently to mix it into the water.
3. Compare the test beaker to the colour chart to determine the pH value. The ideal value is pH 7; if different, correct with Pond pro (sold separately).
4. Rinse the test beaker thoroughly after use.
Using the GH test:
1. Rinse out the test beaker with the water sample, then add 5ml of pond water to the beaker.
2. Add the GH test liquid to the test beaker, one drop at a time, shaking gently until the colour changes from red to green. Note how many drops you used - one drop equates to one degree of total hardness. The ideal GH value is anywhere from 8-12°; if too low, enrich with Pond GH plus (sold separately).
3. Rinse the test beaker thoroughly after use.
Using the KH test:
1. Rinse out the test beaker with the water sample, then add 5ml of pond water to the beaker.
2. Add the KH test liquid to the test beaker, one drop at a time, shaking gently until the colour changes from blue to yellow. Note how many drops you used - one drop equates to one degree of carbonate hardness. The ideal KH value is anywhere from 5-10°; if too low, enrich with Pond KH plus (sold separately).
3. Rinse the test beaker thoroughly after use.
