Thuja occidentalis 'Danica'
white cedar
- Position: full sun to partial shade
- Soil: deep, moist, well-drained soil
- Rate of growth: slow
- Hardiness: fully hardy
Slowly forming a rounded dome of bright, emerald green foliage, which takes on a bronze flush in colder temperatures, this dwarf conifer will provide an interesting silhouette throughout the year. Where space is limited it can be grown in a pot, but if your borders are large enough try dotting it at intervals along their length. - Garden care: Trim, if necessary, in spring and again in late summer to maintain a neat shape. When young, protect from cold, drying winds.
- Humans: Harmful if eaten; skin allergen
