Ajuga reptans 'Blueberry Muffin'
bugle
- Position: full sun or partial shade
- Soil: any moist, well-drained soil
- Rate of growth: fast-growing
- Flowering period: April to June
- Hardiness: fully hardy
Forming spreading evergreen mounds, this bugle is one of the most adaptable and easy to grow groundcovers. The green foliage emerges with a bronze flush, around the same time as the flowerspikes appear in mid-spring - and the combination of this bronze-flushed foliage and lavender-blue flowers is really pretty. - Garden care: To rejuvenate and minimise congestion, lift and divide clumps in late autumn or early spring every two years.
