This tree is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.
Valued for its slender upright form and dazzling autumn show, 'Rainbow Pillar' is a compact, ornamental tree prized for its white, star-shaped spring flowers that are highly attractive to pollinators. The oblong green leaves turn hues of orange, red, and yellow from late September alongside clusters of blue-black summer berries that offer food for birds. Hardy and adaptable, this Amelanchier develops its end of season hues better in full sun and withstands exposure but prefers a neutral to acid soil. Its neat, narrow habit makes it ideal for small gardens needing a vertical showpiece with multi-season interest.
