A tuft-forming perennial with vibrant deciduous foliage, this slowly-spreading gem showcases bright yellow-green leaves providing cover for emerging wildlife. A native marginal plant, Carex pseudocyperus forms dense clumps with with arching stems culminating in drooping yellow/green flowers, and is well-suited for any pond size or boggy area. This versatile plant extends its charm to lakes, streams, riverbanks, and wetland areas, offering both visual appeal and ecological benefits to diverse aquatic settings.
Plant out in reliably moist or boggy soil, or pot up into a pond basket and place at the margins of a pond in shallow water no deeper than 15cm (6"). A low maintenance plant, remove dead leaves and spent flowers as necessary. Divide congested clumps in early spring every few years.
