Coreopsis 'Limerock Ruby' (PBR)
tickseed
This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.
- Position: full sun
- Soil: fertile, well-drained soil
- Rate of growth: average
- Flowering period: June to September
- Hardiness: fully hardy
Velvety-red ray florets surrounding a bright yellow centre, add vibrant, long-lasting colour from midsummer to autumn. 'Limerock Ruby' is ideal for 'hot' themed planting schemes or prairie style gardens; more flowers will form if they are cut back after the first flush of flowers. It's best grown in a free-draining soil in full sun and it can also cope with dry conditions. It looks great teamed with ornamental grasses, and bees and butterflies love it too. - Garden care: Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and water well during hot, dry spells. Cut the faded flower stems back down to ground level in autumn and compost.
