A lush evergreen rosette with glossy dark green leaves that reach outwards in sharp symmetry. Come summer a fiery display ignites, flame-like red bracts blooming from short stem erupting from the centre with each stubby bract marked with a golden yellow tip. The impressive long-lasting flower plumes mark the end of the parent plant, though ‘Brush’ will often give rise to plantlets around the base to continue the bromeliad’s enduring legacy. Undemanding of care when settled, this tropical gem thrives in humid, indirectly lit conditions with a stable, warm temperature.

Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (unless selected), but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from.

  • Home care:
Guzmania prefers a warm, indirectly lit and humid environment with a reliable temperature above 15°C (59°F), avoiding draughts. The plant feeds and absorbs moisture through its foliage, so maintain humidity by misting the leaves regularly throughout the summer. Most importantly, don't overwater - let the soil dry out between watering, maintaining any central cup with about a quarter full of distilled or rainwater if possible.
