This bulb dies back after flowering each year and enters a period of rest ahead of regrowth the following season.
- Position: full sun or partial shade
- Soil: any well-drained, moderately fertile soil (for container-grown bulbs use two parts John Innes No.2 compost to one part sharp grit)
- Rate of growth: average
- Flowering period: December to March (indoors) or April to May (outdoors)
- Hardiness: fully hardy
Tightly packed flowerheads of scented, 'Wedgewood' blue and white bell-shaped blooms appear from late winter, above the glossy, strap-like, dark green leaves. 'Blue Pearl' is a much-loved hyacinth, that will make a fabulously fragrant display either inside your home, or outside in the garden.

Be careful not to over water indoor containers without drainage as the bulbs will rot. Push your finger into the compost and only add more water if it feels dry (rather than moist or damp).
