This shrub is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.

  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: moist, well-drained, humus-rich, acid soil or ericaceous compost
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: May to June
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

Highly fragrant, creamy white, funnel shaped blooms with a yellow flare in May and June and small, mid green leaves. This compact, deciduous azalea is perfect for a large container filled with moist, but well-drained, ericaceous compost. To appreciate its delightful fragrance place containers in a sunny spot close to an entrance or path.

  • Garden care: Avoid planting too deeply. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of leaf mould around the base of the plant each spring.
