This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

Producing an abundance of flowers over a long period, this Coreopsis really offers a lot of bang for the buck! Wonderful in pots or windowboxes, Bloomsation Dragon can also be threaded through the front of the border, where it will put on a dazzling display that will often last right up until the first frosts.
Pot up into containers with a good quality general-purpose compost, or into ground enriched with a backfill of compost or well-rotted manure, at the same depth it was growing previously. Spread a thick 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of leaf or garden compost around your newly planted perennial to protect the roots from frost, help to retain moisture around its roots and deter weeds from germinating. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and water well during hot, dry spells. Cut the faded flower-stems back down to ground level in autumn and compost.
