This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  • Position: full sun
  • Soil: most soils, except very dry or boggy
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: June to September
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

The flowers of this coneflower are a unique colour, and as the heads open and mature, they change colour, and range in antique shades from creamy yellow to pink. Only recently introduced, it really stood out from the crowd when our buyers spotted it at a plant fair - not only for its unusual colouring, but also because the single, semi-double or double flower heads were produced in such abundance.

  • Garden care: Lift and divide congested colonies in autumn or spring. In autumn cut back all dead flower stems to the ground. Coneflowers benefit from a spring or autumn mulch with well-rotted compost.
