‘Volcano’ pops and fizzes with fiery, flame-like tones. A close relative of the much sought-after 'Soft Caress' (which won "Plant of the Year" at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2013), its upright flares of orange-yellow flowers erupt from rounded orange buds over several months from late summer. The rich green, fern-like foliage offers the perfect backdrop for these showy flowers - and even when not in bloom, it provides year-round structural interest to mixed borders. Adaptable and easy to grow, it does well in a pot, or could be planted en-masse to create a lava flow of hedging or taller groundcover. - Garden care: Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant in spring.
- Humans/Pets: Fruit are ornamental - not to be eaten
