Displaying deeply lobed, dark green leaves on elongated stalks and yielding branched stems adorned with one to four magnificent, double, cup-shaped red flowers during spring and summer, 'Vortex Red' stands out as a captivating tuberous perennial. Renowned for their enduring vase life, Asiatic ranunculus are often cherished in floral arrangements. These half-hardy perennials, intolerant of temperatures below -5°C, are commonly treated as annuals in the UK, perfectly suited for vibrant early-season bedding in borders, hanging baskets, or containers.


  • Garden care:
    Plant the talon-like corms in autumn or spring. Rehydrate the corms by soaking them in room temperature water for 1 hour, then plant 8cm deep and a similar distance apart with their 'fingers' facing downwards in full sun in moist but well-drained soil.
