The sumptuous ‘Enchanted Velvet Flame’ from the enchanted series is a maroon-red coneflower, up to 10cm (4") in diameter, with a bold purple-brown ‘cone’, speckled with yellow stamens. Flowering from July to October, the nectar-rich blooms are a magnet for pollinating insects. Best grown as a half-hardy annual, pop these in pots on your patio for a striking late summer display! - Garden care: Pot up and grow on under glass until all risk of frost has passed when they can be planted outside in a well-prepared bed. Pinching out the growing tips will encourage them to become bushier, and feed with a high potash fertiliser at regular intervals throughout the summer. Feed weekly with seaweed extract during the growing season. Deadhead faded flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.
