As the name suggests, this is a compact shrub, which makes it perfect for both pots and borders. It's easy to grow, and the lustrous evergreen foliage will look great throughout the year. In autumn, it develops clusters of bright red flower buds, which nestle above the foliage looking quite festive. These remain tightly closed until spring, when they open to small, star-shaped creamy white flowers, which often have a light perfume and are attractive to pollinators.

Please note that the pot shown is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery pot). If you wish to pot yours up, we have a wide range of pots on our website to choose from.

  • Garden care: Lightly trim after flowering, if necessary. To improve the moisture retention qualities of the soil add plenty of well-rotted compost when planting.
