A compact, bushy evergreen shrub that provides year-round colour and fragrance in the garden. Its glossy leaves emerge yellow-green with pinkish-purple edges, taking on more pink hues in the winter when little else is in bloom. In late spring and summer, pale to mid pink, sweetly scented flowers appear. With its striking tri-colour foliage that persists through winter, and summer blooms, 'Jewel of the Nile' is a stunning choice for containers, rock gardens, or border fronts. This low-maintenance, easy-to-grow shrub offers multi-season beauty in a modestly petite package.

  • Garden care:
Hebes need free-draining soil, so before planting, dig in lots of organic matter to improve the soil condition and drainage. Water newly planted hebes regularly for the first season, especially in warm, dry weather. Once planted, this hebe requires minimal pruning, but remove misplaced or frost-damaged branches in late spring. Protect from severe winter weather with a double layer of horticultural fleece.
