Helichrysum 'Silver Mist'

This perennial is semi-evergreen so it can lose some of its leaves in winter. In colder regions or more exposed gardens, it may lose them all, but then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

With finely textured silver foliage and stems, ‘Silver Mist’ makes a beautiful, branching foil plant for mixed containers or baskets. Easy to grow, this helichrysum is a tender, perennial favourite with the woolly leaves intensifying in colour with more light.
Seedlings hsould be potted up and grown on in frost-free conditions (i.e. a greenhouse or bright windowsill away from central heating radiators) before planting once the risk of frost has gone. Pinch out the growing tips while the plants are still small to encourage more stems and create shapely, compact plants that are perfect for containers. Once the plants are well grown, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days (moving outside during the day) prior to planting in their final positions.
