Erysimum 'Spring Breeze Sunset'
wallflower
This perennial is semi-evergreen so it can lose some of its leaves in winter. In colder regions or more exposed gardens, it may lose them all, but then fresh new growth appears again in spring.
- Position: full sun
- Soil: moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil or general-purpose compost for containers
- Rate of growth: average to fast
- Flowering period: February to July
- Hardiness: borderline hardy (may need winter protection)
A beautiful companion for tulips such as ‘Prinses Irene’ or ‘Negrita Double’, this long-flowering, bushy, wallflower produces long spires of coppery tinted flowers with purple tones above dark stemmed narrow, grey-green leaves. It is a short-lived plant, but it makes a vivid display for many months in a sunny border.
