Forget-me-nots are one of the most welcome sights in spring. The flowers may be small, but they appear in abundance and their colour is bright and cheerful. They look great teamed up with spring-flowering bulbs or ferns, particularly when planted en-masse along the edges of a path or border.
Forget-me-nots thrive in moist, well-drained soil and prefer partial shade. Water frequently during dry spells to maintain evenly moist soil. Deadhead spent blooms to promote continued flowering. These short-lived perennials are best grown as biennials or annuals but will self seed and spread if left untrimmed after flowering. Divide overcrowded clumps every 2-3 years after flowering to maintain vigour.
