Bring award-winning beauty to your garden with this Summer Flowering Clematis Collection—a trio of spectacular, high-performing, and potentially repeat-flowering cultivars that will transform walls, trellises, and arches with months of colour.
From rich, velvety purples, to soft pink-striped elegance, and classic, creamy-white blooms, this collection offers a stunning display from early to late summer. Perfect for adding height, texture, and a touch of elegance to large pots, and obelisk-ed borders.
How to care for Award-winning summer flowering clematis collection:
To avoid dry conditions, and to ensure good soil contact around the rootball, we advise planting climbers at least 30cm (12in), and preferably 45-60cm (18-24in) away from the base of a wall or fence. An even larger distance should be maintained when planting climbers beside an existing tree or shrub.
Clematis are happiest when their roots are kept cool and moist, so try to plant them where the base of the plants will be lightly shaded by other, ower-growing species. Otherwise, use a clematis root protector, or top-dress the rootball (avoiding the immediate crown), with a generous layer of shingle or pebbles.
Remove dead and damaged stems before growth begins in early spring, cutting all remaining stems back to where strong buds are visible.
Apply a slow-release balanced fertiliser and a mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the plant - again avoiding the immediate crown.
What's included:
The collection contains one each of the plants listed below, each in a 9cm pot.
Clematis 'Warszawska Nike': A compact, deciduous clematis known for its stunning display of velvety, reddish-purple single flowers, up to eight overlapping, gently scalloped sepals with a silvery underside, highlighted by bright yellow stamens. Grows to 3m.
Clematis 'Nelly Moser': Delicate, pale pinkish-mauve, early summer flowers with striking pink stripes and contrasting reddish-brown centres. This large-flowered clematis is best grown on a north-facing wall or in shade since the pale pink flowers fade badly in strong sun. It is perfect for training over a pergola or arch, alongside a late-flowering cultivar. Grows to 3m.
Clematis 'Henryi': Large, creamy-white flowers, with chocolate brown anthers, are produced throughout the summer on this vigorous clematis. It is perfect for growing up a trellis with other climbers or to cover a wall. Grows to 3m.
