'Nuccio's Pearl' is a compact, upright, medium-sized evergreen shrub with double flowers, approximately 8cm (3in) across. The petals, with rounded shapes and pointed tips, appear from February to March and exhibit a charming blend of white with a pink flush, with darker hues on the outer petals. A very garden worthy plant and a recipient of the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
How to care for Camellia japonica 'Nuccio's Pearl':
To prevent damage to the emerging buds and flowers protect from cold, dry winds and early morning sun. Water established plants in in dry weather to prevent bud drop. Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser in mid-spring and again in June. Top-dress annually with shredded bark or well-rotted leaf mould. After flowering lightly trim or prune any branches that spoil the appearance of the plant.
