Most children tend to love the bright yellow blooms that sunflowers produce, so this kit is a great way to introduce them to the joys and rewards of gardening. It comes complete with simple to follow instructions, a brightly coloured zinc bucket (or planter), some sunflower seeds, and a dehydrated, peat-free compost pellet.

                                        Growing instructions:
Place the peat-free compost pellet in a suitable mixing container and add 350ml of lukewarm water. Allow to stand and expand for 30-60 minutes, drain off any excess water and mix compost well. You may have more compost than you require, or if the compost is looking dry, add a little more water if required. Fill 90% of the planter with compost and place the seeds evenly over the surface before covering them with a thin layer of compost. Water gently and place the planter indoors in a bright position. Keep watering regularly, never allowing the compost to completely dry out, and after the seeds have sprouted, remove excess seedlings - leaving just the three strongest ones to grow. Place the planter outside in a sunny position after the risk of frost has passed.
