This resilient aquatic plant, thriving even in brackish waters, forms a lush, carpet-like expanse at the pond's base, skillfully doubling as a reliable oxygenator. Operating like an underwater lawn, Lilaeopsis brasiliensis requires little maintenance apart from its preference for clear water. Offering a natural solution to reducing nitrates, this non-native bog garden or shallow to medium water depth aquatic not only combats algae but also provides a haven for wildlife. Produces tiny white, insignificant flowers in summer.
How to care for Lilaeopsis brasiliensis:
Grow in moist, boggy soils or fully submerged in clear water ponds to a maximum depth of up to 60cm (24") below water level. No maintenance is required. As with any non-native oxygenator, please do not plant in any place with a connection to a natural body of water.
