Nemesia 'Lady Penelope'

nemesia

Product Image
Soft colour and sweet fragrance make this compact beauty a real treat for pots and borders. Forming a neat, bushy mound to around 30cm (12in) tall, it carries small mid-green leaves that provide the perfect backdrop for its long-lasting floral display.

Nemesia 'Lady Penelope' produces masses of bi-coloured blooms from late spring right through to early autumn, keeping the garden lively for months. Each flower shows rose-pink upper petals and crisp white lower petals, highlighted by a warm yellow eye and delicate pink markings, creating a bright, cheerful contrast that draws the eye in.

Often grown as a seasonal bedding plant, despite being a short-lived perennial, it’s ideal for containers, edging paths, or filling gaps in sunny borders

How to care for Nemesia Lady Penelope:

Our bedding range and bedding collections (where available) are offered as seedlings, cuttings, and potted plants.

Pot up seedlings and cuttings and grow them on under glass until the risk of frost has passed. Once conditions are warmer, they can be planted directly into well-prepared beds, or used to fill patio pots, window boxes, and hanging baskets for long-lasting seasonal colour. Larger 9cm bedding plants don’t usually need potting on but will benefit from initial frost protection in spring.

To keep bedding plants looking their best, and where applicable, pinch out the tips to promote bushier growth and water regularly, especially in containers where compost dries out quickly. Feed with a high-potash fertiliser every couple of weeks to encourage continuous flowering. Deadhead faded blooms, as required, to extend the display and keep plants tidy, ensuring vibrant summer flowers from planting time right through to the first frosts.
