Trollius × cultorum Full Moon ('Mactro010')

globeflower

Product Image
Trollius × cultorum 'Full Moon' unveils large, perfectly globular double flowers atop strong, upright stems, rising dramatically from a lush carpet of glossy, deeply divided palmate leaves in late spring.

Thriving in moisture-rich garden spaces, this robust, clump-forming perennial delivers exceptional visual drama with minimal gardener intervention. Its delicate flower structure features multiple petal-like sepals embracing reduced nectar-bearing petals, creating an intricate, luminous bloom that captures the essence of early summer.

Ideal for damp borders and woodland gardens, this trollius transforms lush landscapes with its architectural form and radiant colouration. Ensure consistent moisture and partial shade to encourage optimal flowering, and watch as this plant becomes a captivating focal point when surrounding plantings are still finding their summer stride.

How to care for Trollius × cultorum Full Moon ('Mactro010'):

Choose a location with moist or boggy soil. Prepare the bed well by digging in lots of composted organic matter before you plant. For best results it is essential that the plants are kept well watered for the first year, particularly during warmer weather.

Lift and divide large clumps in late autumn or early spring. In spring apply a 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plants and water in very dry weather, to prevent the soil from drying out.
