Veronica spicata 'Rotfuchs'

speedwell (syn. Red Fox)

Product Image
Branching leafy stems form neat, bushy mounds, which are topped with stout spikes bearing deep, rose-pink flowers. Veronica spicata 'Rotfuchs' is a very decorative cultivar, particularly when planted in large clumps towards the front of a herbaceous border.

How to care for Veronica spicata Rotfuchs:

Plant in well-drained soil and a sunny or lightly shaded spot. It prefers moist but not waterlogged ground, so improve drainage if your soil is heavy. Water regularly after planting to help it establish, then only during long dry spells.

Trim back lightly after flowering to keep the plant neat and encourage fresh growth. Apply a general-purpose fertiliser or compost mulch in spring to boost vigour. It’s a low-growing, spreading perennial that forms a dense mat, perfect for rockeries, front borders, or under shrubs. Generally pest-free and hardy, it needs lower maintenance once established.
