Mineral-rich volcanic rock dust is a natural organic source of trace elements to boost soil fertility. Added to soil or compost for growing both edible and ornamental plants, it will promote tastier crops, better yields and improve resistance to pests and drought.
You can also use it as an accelerator in wormeries and compost bins to boost worm and microbe activity.
How to use:
Top dressing:
Spread at any time of year, except in frozen or windy conditions, for earthworms to take down and incorporate into the soil. Recommended application rates are 0.5kg per square metre annually for general use or 2kg per square metre as a booster.
Compost activator:
Use as a light covering each time you add new layers of material to your compost bin or heap. It will speed up decomposition, raise the temperature and reduce odours.
Wormeries:
Sprinkle a small handful per 30cm² (1ft²) onto the surface of your wormery once a month to attract worms and enrich the compost.
Key features:
- Improves nutrient content of soil or compost
- Boosts activity of soil organisms
- Promotes healthy plant growth and better crop yields
