Campsis × tagliabuana 'Madame Galen'
Madame Galen
This climber is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.
- Position: full sun
- Soil: moderately fertile, moist, well-drained soil
- Rate of growth: fast-growing
- Flowering period: August to September
- Hardiness: frost hardy (needs winter protection)
Spectacular, trumpet-shaped, salmon red flowers appear from August to September among dark green leaves. This vigorous climber looks great trained over a sunny wall or fence and needs lots of space to spread out. - Garden care: Until the plant has fully established, the shoots need to be trained and tied to a trellis or framework of horizontal wires. In February or March prune the sideshoots to within three or four buds of the permanent framework of the plant.
