Dianella revoluta Coolvista ('Allyn-Citation') (PBR)
dianella (syn. Dianella revoluta Coolvista)
- Position: full sun or partial shade
- Soil: humus-rich, well drained, neutral to acidic soil
- Rate of growth: average
- Flowering period: June to July
- Hardiness: frost tender (will need protection in winter)
‘Coolvista’ is a delightful, clump-forming, evergreen perennial with strap-shaped, grey-green leaves and from early to mid-summer, panicles of star-shaped, blue to purple-blue and yellow flowers emerge above this grassy foliage. Either grow in a pot and move to an unheated greenhouse over the winter or in milder areas, grow all year round outside in a sheltered location and provide frost protection as required. - Garden care: Avoid excessively wet winter weather and protect from hard frosts. In all but very sheltered gardens, this is best grown in a pot, so it can be moved to an unheated greenhouse during winter.
