How to care for Araucaria araucana:
Plant monkey puzzle tree in full sun in well-drained, preferably slightly acidic soil. Choose a spot with plenty of space as it develops a large, symmetrical shape over time. It’s best planted when young and left undisturbed, as it resents root disturbance.
Water regularly during the first growing season to help it establish, especially in dry weather. Once established, it becomes more drought tolerant. No pruning is required, but remove any damaged lower branches if necessary. Protect young plants from strong winds and harsh winter conditions with a fleece or windbreak until they’re well established.
