Clematis 'Elpis', named in support of Prostate Cancer Research, unveils star-shaped flowers with rich, ruby red petals dramatically crowned by creamy-yellow centres, each bloom expanding to an impressive 12cm (5in) in diameter.
Blooming from midsummer and recurring in September, this hardy perennial climber reaches a compact 1.2m, offering vertical drama against trellises, obelisks, and fences where space is limited. Its verdant foliage, retained from March to October, provides a lush backdrop to the stunning floral display.
Preferring roots in shade and flowers in full sun to partial shade, it transforms garden spaces with its soft, romantic presence and supports local wildlife with its irresistible blooms.
Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery alternative), but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from.
