Niwaki golden spade - long
Tough but light and lethally sharp, this is a longer version of Niwaki’s popular golden spade. Great for taller gardeners, giving some extra leverage to save back strain, and better for digging deeper holes (eg for tree planting).
Everything else is the same - the firm tread, keen edge and punchy pointed tip, comfortable YD handle and rigid steel pipe shaft that won’t flex or break with heavy use. At 1.86kg, the weight isn’t much heavier than the standard size spade.
Please note: as the paint wears off, the steel will start to rust. Regular use is the best treatment. Clean off the blade after use, dry it well and wipe it over with camellia oil to keep it in good condition.
